Suppose you know this, but the first birthday's the hardest. Well, they all suck, but George and me have found it's not quite so desperately sharp after that.

Telling stories about him helps. Luckily, with Neville, you have a bunch of great ones to remember.

Damn, but he was a magnificent kid. And he'll always be remembered as one of Gryffindor's finest.

Again, we're all so sorry.

Wish we could be with you today, but we understand you're with the right people right now.

If you like, come find us when you get back to the castle. You can turn into the Professor, and we'll play fetch with you down by the lake as long as you like.

Thanks. I'm doing all right, I guess. As well as can be expected. Day's young, though.

The one who's really been crying has been Kevin. It seems to help Evelyn to console him. I try, but, when I do, it just makes me think of the big brother he had, and that only makes me feel guilty again. Mum and Dad have been more quiet, but I know they stayed up late talking.

It's funny what you think about. I keep wishing it was the season for paperwhites; I'd like a pot of them to smell.

Smells are comforting for dogs.

No, I'll be there, I promise, Luna. Today's the important day to spend with my family, so I can come back and be there tonight. Anyway, Colin would be plenty hacked off with me if I didn't show up!

This is one of the meat craving months. And I'm really aching. Remus' tea isn't helping as much as it did last month.

Remember when I told you that you don't need to invite me each month, that I consider it a standing ~~obliga~~ date? It's fine. It'll be nice to spend the night as the Professor, actually.
